CSR and Charity at Capita WFM
Capita Workforce Management is part of Capita PLC and we are both committed to supporting local and national charities and organisations.
We are proud to be a member of Involve Swindon, encouraging our employees to take one day out a year to volunteering in our local community.
We are very proud to have partnered with the Careers & Enterprise Company to help young people in Swindon and Wiltshire prepare for the fast-changing world of work.
Capita WFM has signed up to become a ‘Cornerstone Employer’ in the Swindon and Wiltshire Careers Hub and has committed to investing time and resources to support local schools and colleges with their careers education and with inspiring young people.
Young people who have regular, meaningful interactions with employers while at school are less
likely to be NEET (Not in Employment, Education or Training) when they leave school.
Capita WFM works closely with The Careers & Enterprise Company, Swindon Borough Council and
Wiltshire Council and the Swindon and Wiltshire Enterprise Adviser Network, a network of
volunteers from the world of business who are each matched to a local school to support their
Together we will ensure that all young people across the region have access to regular, meaningful
engagement with employers and gain the vital experiences of the workplace they need to help them
make informed choices about their futures.
Cornerstone Employers act as champions to encourage new businesses in the area to get involved in
supporting schools and colleges, as well as encouraging their own staff to become volunteer ‘Enterprise Advisers’.
Daniel Busson, Operations Director at Capita Workforce Management, said:
“Capita Workforce Management Solutions is delighted to have become the first Cornerstone
Employer in Swindon and Wiltshire. We are firm believers in giving all young people the best
possible start to their careers, and by being a Cornerstone Employer, we can not only ensure we are
assisting local institutions but also encouraging and supporting our fellow businesses in the area to
become part of the Swindon & Wiltshire Careers Hub. We look forward to supporting the next
generation of employees for many years to come.”
Charity selection process
Our corporate charity partner is chosen by our employees following a four-stage process. The first step is asking employees for nominations, we then contact the top 15 nominated charities directly to discuss the next stage.
Other ways we support charities
- Our employees participate in and run local events in support of charities of their choosing and take part in volunteering opportunities.
- We run a matched funding scheme in which we donate to local projects that our people have decided to support.
- We run a central payroll giving scheme – an efficient way for our people to give money to their chosen charities.
We are committed to growing Capita in a transparent and responsible way.
Corporate responsibility means different things to different businesses. For us, corporate responsibility means acting responsibly in all that we do and adding value, not only in our commercial activities, but beyond these to support all our stakeholders, including the communities in which we work. Our responsible behaviours underpin our business, enhance our multiple relationships and further motivate our people. The result is a better and more sustainable business.
